The Prague Winter Festival gives warmth to Czech always cold and snowy winter. The coldest month is January, for sure. But also, wrapped in snow and ice, Prague has its charm. There’s always something to warm you up.

The Prague Winter Festival

One of the events in this cold winter month, which greets the soul, if not the body of fans of the classics, a winter musical festival.

It is held, as its name speaks, in winter, at the beginning of January.

It is a festival of opera, ballet and classical music. The festival has a long tradition for more than forty years.

This festival started while the Czech Republic has been under the communist regime in 1972.

The opening of this festival is during the first week of January.

Concerts, operas and ballet performances are held at various places, such as in the National Theater, State Theater and Rudolfinum.
