St. George’s Basilica is the oldest religious object in Prague and it is located within the Prague castle. The church dates back to the year 920 AD, built by Prince Boleslav and his sister Mlada as the Benedictine monastery.
The remains of the first Czech duchess Ljudmila are located in this church.
After the fire that has almost destroyed the building, it has been renewed in early-roman style and it has remained as it is for today.
There are two white towers of different thicknesses that are decorating this basilica. They are called by famous names – Adam and Eve.
Today this basilica is a part of National gallery and it owns different collections of Czech art.
